Terms of Service

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Template notice: working draft for launch. Have a solicitor review before relying on these terms; engagement-specific terms are set in each signed engagement letter.

1. Who we are

This website is operated by Cognithreat Ltd, a company registered in England & Wales (Company No. [number]), London, United Kingdom.

2. Using this website

You may use the site for lawful purposes only. You must not misuse it, attempt to gain unauthorised access, introduce malicious code, or use it in any way that could damage or impair the service. The free tools provided on the site are offered “as is” for general guidance and do not constitute professional advice.

3. Services

Our threat simulations, training, advisory and Attack Surface Snapshot services are delivered under a separate written engagement letter, which takes precedence over these terms for that engagement. Indicative prices on this site are estimates and not an offer; final pricing is confirmed in proposal.

4. Reconnaissance & OSINT

Any open-source intelligence work is performed only within the scope, authorisation and consent set out in a signed engagement letter, using passive review of publicly available information. We do not access, scan, test or interfere with any system. Deliverables are provided for the client’s defensive use and are confidential.

5. Intellectual property

All content, methods, scenarios, scoring frameworks and software on this site and within our platform are owned by Cognithreat Ltd. Client report content is licensed to the client for their internal use; our underlying methods and tools remain ours.

6. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Subject to that, our services are advisory: we help you improve resilience but cannot guarantee prevention of any incident, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Engagement liability is governed by the engagement letter.

7. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of England & Wales, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
